Job Description:
Position requires experience with mainframe storage management in a large multi terabyte environment, must be well versed in SMS Pool management, Business Recovery support, hardware installation and de-installation, operational command center support. Candidate needs to have the ability to handle project requirements for DASD both from analysis and implementation aspects.
Job Requirements:
Candidate should have general working knowledge of IBM Z/OS system concepts, IBM utilities, DB2, IMS and CICS concepts.
Hands on working knowledge of DFSMS, DFDSS, and DFHSM.
Experience in developing and coding ACS routines for disk storage.
Familiarity with Hitachi, IBM, EMC hardware.
Working knowledge of PAV/MA.
Internal knowledge of Access Method Services.
Experience in maintenance of storage software products.
Knowledge of disk performance, monitoring, troubleshooting, and data set placement.
Experience with Software/utilities: TDMF, NDM, FDR/CPK, ACC/SRS, Catalog Recovery Plus, SAS, RMF and Rexx.
Requires 7x24 support experience in a large production environment.
Knowledge of Ficon/Escon configuration rules and experience with mainframe storage replication technologies.
Experience with CA1, Tape Silos, Virtual Tape Systems and Six Sigma
Roles & Responsibilities:
Maintain documentation for Storage Services related processes.
Maintain disk hardware configuration maps.
Maintain disk hardware asset management documentations.
Monitor Online Storage pools and Started Tasks for mainframe disk storage services.
Maintain disk Utilization Reporting.
Attend Vendor Meetings when required.
Perform QA disk software testing.
Perform disk audit and compliance related activities.
Manage disk capacity adds/deletes.
Support disk Change Control Process.
Support disk Sysmod Outage activities.
Support Contingency Recovery exercises.
rovide Level 1 on call support (7 x 24 support)
